The Sandpoint Soccer Association sponsors one of two TOPSoccer programs in the state of Idaho! TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is the US Youth Soccer program for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability.
Sandpoint TOPSoccer began in the spring of 2007. 29 players between the ages of 4 and 16 participated in this first-ever effort in Sandpoint.Several volunteers provided terrific coaching, and Strikers "buddies" assisted every week. Parents and PSR workers also provided tremendous support. We could not have had such a great inaugural season without all of you!
Besides having a lot of fun, players learned new soccer skills and improved on existing skills. Some participants decided to register for the next Youth League season because of the confidence they developed through TOPS!
